Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical physics or materials science, with a strong background in sol-gel chemistry, inorganic chemistry and various coating processes. Hands-on experience with polymer chemistry and coating / thin films preparation and characterization techniques is a plus.
Scholarship Open for International Students: The scholarship is open only for Switzerland students.
Info Beasiswa 2012 Luar Negeri Description: Empa is the interdisciplinary research and services institution for material sciences and technology development of the ETH Domain. As part of a collaborative project with Empa, the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Tsukuba, Japan.The research will involve sol-gel synthesis methods for the fabrication of protective, metal-oxide and intermetallic functional coatings. Specific tasks include: Preparation of precursor solutions and suspensions for the fabrication of thermal barrier (yttrium stabilized zirconia based) and thermal insulating (silica based) coatings by sol-gel based approaches. Posttreatment optimization, reactions in reducing atmospheres Characterization and performance evaluation of the fabricated coatings.
